Foo Fighters are back on the road again. The band announced they will be embarking on the 12-date Take Cover North American tour this coming summer, and the itinerary includes a stop at Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field. The tour announcement coincides with a new song; Foo Fighters dropped their latest single, "Asking For a Friend" earlier today.
The group have tapped Queens of the Stone Age and Philadelphia's own Mannequin Pussy as supporting acts for the Take Cover tour (Woo!). This will be the second major tour the band embarks on following the death of founding member and original drummer, the legendary Taylor Hawkins, in 2022. In the wake of Hawkins' death, Josh Freese (The Vandals) took over on drums–a spot he held throughout Foo Fighters' 2023-2024 Everything or Nothing At All tour. In May of this year, Freese announced he'd been let go from the band, and in July, Foo Fighters announced Ilan Rubin (Nine Inch Nails, Angels & Airwaves) would be carrying on Hawkin's legacy with the band (coincidentally, Freese filled the vacancy in Nine Inch Nails left by Rubin's departure).
